| Intro by Blinky:
Have you ever wondered how a person got to pick the name or 'nick' they use in chat?? ....Well this page is chocker full on how these 'Chat Friends' aquired there 'nicks'. Alot of people have asked me how i got my 'nick' and i ask others the same question,... so this page is dedicated to a 'nick' background story on each person. So if we havn't tracked you down and nagged you to include you on this page, please contact either Megan or myself (we are usually to be found in #Newbies) as we will be more than happy to put your 'nick' story on this page too. I would like to give a

"I've always been curious about the origins of people's nicks and working on this project with Blinky has been a lot of fun. I quickly discovered that what I thought might be the meaning of a person's nick was entirely wrong LOL. we often see nicks changing.

we thought we'd start you off
with the definition of the word "nickname":
1. an additional or substitute
name given to a person. usually
2. a familiar, often shorter form of a proper name. |

| Blinkybell: Thats my true 'nick' which i have used for a couple of years now, (not in cchat but in other time which i wont go into right now) ... I used to watch a cartoon called Blinky bill here in Aussie land, he is a koala toon and real cute, but as i am female i had to change it so i came up with the name Blinky bell ... as it was a bit long to use in cchat i shortend it to Blin and used that for a lil while but decided it was too much like my IRL name so i changed it to Blinky, hence the other names i get called now like ... Blonky, Blink, Blinks, blanky and Blinkers (-: |

"Outcast"
is obvious, so I won't go into that. As far as "MrBugSir" goes, well, I
am male (hence "Mr"), I am an alien (hence "Bug"), and I am a knight of
the Romulakian High Council, with the honorable title of "Lord of the Aliens"
(hence "Sir").
Back on Earth before I became InSaNe and started to chat with Comic Chat 1.0 (Yes, it was called that once), I wanted a name that the humans would call an alien with huge eyes, as r. That name turned out to be "Bug-Eyes". I got bored with that and dropped the "eyes", but apparently there were alot of Bugs out there. Later, when I got dropped from my ISP becuz they were too stupid to figure out why they weren't getting my money, and I had a "cyberdate" that weekend, I needed to get on-line fast...so I bought a 'zine that has an America On-Line disk in it. AOL at the time had 6 million members, each of which could have up to 5 "screen names". The implications were staggering!!! Perhaps 30 million screen names already in use...and my screen name had to be unique. Somehow I thunk up "MrBugSir" and it was indeed unique. I won't go into the sick and twisted names I tried to use beforehand. It turns out that for everything I have needed a unique name for being on the 'net for, MrBugSir always works. I guess I am one-of-a-kind after all, I have suspected this for years, ha ha :P |

| MEGAN: "My original nic
was 'Morgana', which is also my cat's name
(taken from the movie 'Excalibur'). After some people started shortening my nic to 'Morg', I thought it was time for a change (too morbid). i was also mistaken for 'morgana the kissing bandit'. Sorry boys, i'm not her ... Hehehe. in searching for a new nic, jen suggested 'megan'. i liked the name and have used it ever since. i also answer to the nick 'snow bunny' (sooooooo cute hehehe). this is because of a pic of me sitting in the snow at whistler, bc." |

POLY: "it just popped into my
head lol"
we discovered the meaning of the word 'poly' is 'many' and we think it suits him perfectly. he entertains us with his 'many' songs and helps us all with his 'many' talents with the computer and keeps 'many' of us smiling :-) |

| FIREBIRD: "Well, there's not too much story to it. I bought a Pontiac Firebird last year. A few months later I got a computer and started going online. A friend at work told me about CChat and I mentioned that I had a hard time coming up with a good nickname. He sat there a moment and said why not Firebird since you have the car. Well, I thought it was great! And it does seem to get people's attention. Made lots of good friends with it!\rdblquote :-) |

Okra: basically, my mom and dad grew up on farms... okra is a fried southern veggie delicacy... i grew up on that stuff.... wud rather eat a bowl of fried okra than ice cream.... i'm from the deep south region of america..... |

book!
When we first got the net, in late January, my daughter took her pony's name, Marzie, for her nick and thought it was a great idea if I used one of the other horses' names for mine. My choices were Abraham or Amigo. I took Amigo. Lasted two days in cchat before Poly started fussing big time about my nick being a guy's name, not a girl's name. Said I should change it to Amiga ... and the rest is history! |

GUSTO: When asked, Gusto told us his nic meant just what the word means, so we looked it up and here are some of the definitions: To enjoy; enthusiastic appreciation; zest; great vigor or liveliness. Well, that says it all about Gusto … he sure has the true "spirit" for chatting. |

NiteCreature: Well, i spose first
reason for my name is the fact i never chat or anything like that during
the day, prolly cause i am either sleeping or not home or in front on of
my playstation, which i class as my baby, its my pride and joy.
But how i got the name. It was actually given to me by another person i chat with. They knew about my dimented sleeping habits and that i often stayed up till 4 or 5am everyday, chatting or just surfing the web in general. First they were calling me Creature of the Nite, Nite Stalker, then eventually we came around to NiteCreature and i liked it best and that name kind of stuck. I like the name its not too long and its not a name that would freak people out!. |
